Default Shipping Ammo within Canada

Having read a few threads now regarding the issues involved with buying ammo in the US and bringing it across the border into Canada - ie) totally illegal under US laws... it got me to thinking, what about shipping ammo within Canada? Not transporting it yourself, but say I have a relative in Ontario who loads up some ammo for me - can that person ship it to me by Greyhound or Canada Post? My first instinct is that ammunition must be classified as a "dangerous good" or something along those lines and would therefore have some restrictions, but I've never looked into it - does anyone know what the rules are?

Your bang on as to the classification of the ammunition as a dangerous good. Greyhound and Canda Post will not ship dangerous goods if so marked and declaired. It is also a offence to knowingly ship dangerous goods without marking them as such.
DHL for sure and I think Canpar will ship Dangerous goods, of course a Haz Mat charge applies, I do believe DHL charges $15.00/ shipment.
