Sure looks like it might be a big bear. The measurments quoted would say so. Hard to tell in the picture though. If the fellow in the pic would get a couple feet farther behind the beast it would look even bigger.

I laugh when people score bears because they get so excited when they measure it and then when they actually boil the skull and allow for shrinkage theya re in for a big surprise. That is a nice bear but I would be surprised to see it end up over 21". Hope it does for you.
Alberta bears are not known to grow as big of heads as some areas. Beleive it or not but I think Arizona has a big number of B+C bears. Bears are the toghest to score a booner on.

And a ton of bears are killed every year that would qualify for 'the books', and never get entered, or even measured.
Good advertisement for your brother's guide service... what do they bait with, SPAM?

Bear Obsession, First you say it goes over 21" and now you are saying it is around 21". Found out the facts before you start pushin numbers on here. There is no way a 260lb bear is going to go near that mark. It will probably run just over 18" and is a nice average bear at 6 feet. It takes a special bear to score over 21 ".

Nice bear, Hope I get one like that.
But I agree what abduknut & nube said..
Should have simply posted pics of a nice bear instead of promoting an outfitters business.

And you guys wonder why guys leave this board!!
See Jeff hunted with this guy this spring and shot a nice first archery bear. Jim send him a pic of this bear and some stats. He comes on here shares a pic of a great bear and the stats he was told. Then you guys proceed to fricken roast him. You try to imply he's trying to promote his bro's guiding bussiness and/or lying about the stats. Nube I know you get around and know all there is about bears but give the guy a break.
He hunted with an outfitter - had success himself - is able to show a pic of some elses success - and is a satisfied customer. Why wouldn't he promote this guy - who BTW is no relation whatsoever! Ya maybe the bear isn't going to end up that big - who the frick cares!! If his name was Pat G most of you guys would have a brown nose.
I don't know most of you but I've met Jeff and I'll say there's no chance in heck he was trying to be missleading. He just passed on a little info as he got it - period!
Keep posting Jeff - don't let guys like this turn you off of this forum.

Hey Jeff it's Vickie from McLeod Valley Outdoor Adventures! I want to thank you for all your kind words and it was great having you and your friends here this spring. Yes, Jim's bear was 6'2" and as everyone knows there is a 60 days to dry so yes it is a green score of 21 inches!! and it does weigh in at 260lbs. We had many people there when we did this. There are lots of big bears in this area why do you think there are so many Americans that come up here to hunt bears? I would also like to thank the other guy for standing up for us that was very kind of you!!

Great bear!! Nice picture, thanks for sharing! Wished id taken one this spring.... Thats huntin i suppose. I will say, i agree with the above guys though, a 21 inch bear is a SMASHER. Heck, 21 inch is a good grizz. You should stop measuring with a stretchy tape measure. Best-a luck this fall.

BearB8er, What part of "nice Bear" in my post did you miss. I have nothing wrong with his pictures and I don't care what size it is. I do have a problem with people saying things are bigger than what they are.
Ive been on over 150 bear kills and can tell you that I have seen a lot and yes I have a lot more to learn. I have seen I would say less than 4 of those bears end up scoring over 21 inches. I have seen a unch of them that have green scored that much but it will surprise you inthe end. I would say anything over 20" is a treat. I'm not bashing this guy for posting any pictures and he can promote the outfitter all he wants. Just don't come on here and tell me it is a bear that is going to go over 21" that's all.
Kind of reminds me of the farmer this weekend I was talking with and getting permission from and he said he had a 182 gross deer. He wanted to show me his wall of bucks. His deer might have scored 150 if it was lucky. Didn't know where he got the score from but I wish he would score my deer.

Nube I'm not going to get in a ****ing match with you. All I was saying was give the guy the benifit of doubt. No where did he say that the bear was any thing but 21 inches now. Never claimed to be able to tell the future - should have been clear that he was speaking green score. If it is 21inches now than it is a 21 inch bear till 60 days are up!
You basicly came on here and called Jeff a liar - personally think you owe him an appology! That's what ****ed me off!
Vicki never met you or your hubby but if Jeff says you are good folks - good enough for me. Got a friend who really wants a B&C bear so I gave him your contact info.

I remember your bear Tyee43 and it was a good one. Great story as well and you really worked for him. Here was mine from a couple years back. Not close to 21 but over 20. You know you have a good one if he has a big crease in his forehead.
Sorry Jeff for calling you a liar without actually comming out and calling you a liar. I sure hope he gets to 21" for you. Let us know what it ends up being.
Can we all be friends now? I just had a jelousy thing going for a while I guess. Sorry to ruffle the feathers

I don't think anybody criticized the picture? I'm sure others agree, that what we want to see on here are pictures of bears (or whatever) shot under fair chase conditions, unguided in Alberta or elsewhere. Sure, if the hunt was in BC or AK or the Territories, that's a different situation altogether- but, the post that started this thread was merely an advertisement.
"Kind of reminds me of the farmer this weekend I was talking with and getting permission from and he said he had a 182 gross deer. He wanted to show me his wall of bucks. His deer might have scored 150 if it was lucky. Didn't know where he got the score from but I wish he would score my deer."
Yeah up here it seems every whitetail with antlers is a "180". I know some very avid hunters who see 3 or 4 of them every time they hunt ... Funny though, all the deer on their walls are 140's
Same goes for the "400 lb bear". I swear every day somebody is telling me they saw a 400lb black bear in the ditch.
I know I am going back how about you ?
I'll pass. but thanks for the offer.

Thanks guys i wasnt trying to get people upset, I was just trying to let people know where there was some good bear hunting, I liked it so much i thought others might want a good hunt. Abduknut I was the one who started it and if you want to think of it as an advertisement then ok fine im just letting people know where good bear hunting is. If your not interested then good. More room for us.
Nube and all others ; Thanks guys I appreciate it.

mcloed valley bear
My name is Jim. Its 1:50 a.m . I first would like to thank all who liked JEFFS PIC'S of my bear. I personaly would not have posted on this site but oh well u see what happens, . I aint a Jim Shockey or a Jack Britingham, but I do try to give the average joe a chance to harvest anice bear. I am not trying to plug my outfitter biz. Your narrow mindedness is to typical of most poeple who sit behind a desk all day, whatching too many hunting videos. When it comes to bear hunting most are experts. But don't put the Hours in like I do. My bear was 6-2 , did weight 260 and will net 20 3/4 and thats all I got to say about that.If u like it let us know if not keep wishing.
