Default Anyone tried getting their gun back.

Has anyone tried to get their guns back yet. My son just found out they got his. I heard they were just taking the ones in plain sight. He had it hidden in the back of a closet is the bedroom. The rifle was cased, they took the rifle and left the case.

That's ^ what the RCMP told the media.

I hope your son lets the media know about this!

I can only imagine some of the damage to these homes.

So the RCMP entered your sons home, searched for his firearms, found them and seized them... Sounds like targeting firearm owners to me. Did they at least secure the house before they left?

His house was apparently looted and a complaint should be raised and charges filed. RCMP or not.

This should get interesting, so they claim they're looking for injured. In the closet?

Only targeting unsafe stored guns my a ss .
That's a joke and they should be charged. I wouldn't be too happy if I was in that situation.

This is really starting to burn my ass!
Dam cops have nothing better to do, I once called in a rape in progress and the RCMP actually said , we will be there when we can, we have a missing person complaint right now. Give me a break ,I chased the guy away and recognized him and filed a complaint, they let him go cause he said he didn't do it, also the cop actually said well he just got back from football camp. WTF does that mean?!???!!!! if you have a possibility of having a football career you can rape wasted girls in the street!?
I told the cops next time I'll just hit the MOFO with a shovel , they said you do that and you will be charged.
I know sorry, off on a tangent but it just shows how pathetic these people are.
Just make up your own rules if you happen to have a badge and a gun.
Shouldn't be too long till My front door gets kicked down now and I get a boot in the face.
Don't let these mofos take your guns.

I haven't talked with for too long as he was busy so I didn't get too many details as to weather the crashed the door in or not. I do know he had it locked. They were not looking for anything but a gun. When we go t get it I am going to make a little noise. If we have too many people in that have been looted we should get together and file a law suit. I am taking my video camera when we go to get it, that should be interesting.

There will be support. Lots of respectable people out there affected by this.

If action isn't taken, it'll just be easier for them next time.

Nothing less than suits, charges and job losses should occur.

I will definitely let you know, I hope I don't get arrested or not for too long if I do. If there is any damage to the rifle or scope they are going to pay for that to. I don't get mad often but when I do it ain't pretty.

Roy Greene did a big segment on his show today about this. He is 100% on the side of the homeowners and had a sergeant from High River answering questions.
She said probably 30 times that "it was strictly a search and rescue. They weren't looking for guns. If the gun was in a drawer or up in a closet top shelf they would have no reason to look there. Therefore those guns will still be there." When he asked if they were looking under beds and such she said of course because in times of stress when people are scared they tend to hide in small and strange places. Really? CYA folks.
She was stuttering and stammering and had serious issues putting a complete sentence together. She was lying plain and simple. 100% CYA was in full effect.
Roy is doing a piece on this tomorrow as he wants to try and dig a little deeper. It would be great if you or better yet, your son, can call in and tell the truth of what really happened. You should be able to find his show times and call there early to make sure they know the story.

The dickens you say. If only there were some sort of a historical precedent we could look back on to see where this was leading.

Wonder what excuses the useful idiots will come up with now? Tools.

Enjoy the decline.

Just that if history is any indicator of where this is heading, we are heading towards tyranny (as most democracies eventually do). (and that there are always apologists who will make excuses for the abuse of power....cue the "tinfoil hat" comments etc)

But then I again, maybe I'm wrong. I never thought the USA would elect Obama again or Alberta would elect Redford. Sometimes I have too much faith in the electorate I suppose.

Cripes ain't that the truth!!! I never expected to have a WR government but WTF happened there?
"I think we should concentrate on more important matters" She says. I think the people in HR having their homes looted are pretty sure this is an important matter.

I've seen the RCMP do lots of good things and I've also seen them drop the ball big time for no good reason. Then they (RCMP) wonder why people don't trust them They need to clean house starting right from the top......

Yeah really.

People will get themselves into the damndest places trying to hide.

But obviously... that still isn't plain sight.

I just find it strange that since they were there for "search and rescue", these people would be crammed into tight corners and closets hiding from the rescue teams. I would be on the porch seconds after the door is broken down trying to jump in a boat.
I have been called strange on occasion though.

We're talking about panic here and there is logical about it.
People hide in closets and under beds during fires... why not during a flood?

I don't think common sense or actual thought even come into play.

Nobody ever accused me of being normal either.

Default will they be held accountable?

i have lost all respect for the rcmp
over the handling of the high river flood
using it as a chance to root thru peoples closets
looking for guns to seize
Really Really cant believe that happened
our freedom has been infringed upon

Who made decision to seize the guns should be held accountable
RCMP leadership has failed miserably
Some one should look into this matter making a public report
and not the rcmp investigating the rcmp

a video of getting the gun back is a great idea
