"After making his way up to the animal, a flood of thoughts and emotions piled on him and the whole scene felt surreal. Everything from the five bypass surgeries three years ago, to the heart attack in March, to the doctors telling him not to go hunting were all in the forefront of his mind and he knew something special had happened on many levels. Just being out there was an accomplishment at 73 years old, braving the elements despite health setbacks. Because of all this, a freezer-filling spike-fork moose would’ve thrilled his soul. Little did he know that a bull of a lifetime, or several lifetimes, would’ve found its way into his cross-hairs"

Sounds like he deserved this animal in every way! Good on him, hope I am that spry at 73.

Total Pig!

Im counting down the minutes until a few select members chime in on how its not really that big. And how they've guided clients into bigger moose that were passed on.

I think that the most recent moose is on B&C Trophy Watch. It was shot in the Yukon. I've seen it, it has been taped several times, by several people (none are official scoters that I'm aware of) and all are within a half inch which gives it some space to shrink and still be #1.

Wow! Thats a nice old moose!

Love the rubber dingy pic.

My guide when I was in Alaska had got a 72" moose with a client once but he said it wasn't overly big just had palms that laid strait out. This guy is massive!!

That is a beauty of a moose. I hope it is the official record because it deserves it.

That's a different bull shot in Alaska. The new potential record is in the 265" range from initial reports. Shot just off the Yukon River, where another river dumps in. I've been there hunting, big moose... If I knew how to put up pics I'd post it. Got a text earlier in the week with it though.

You forgot the part about adding that they haven't shot their own Moose cause they choose not to.
