Default Favourite Guns

Hi guys.
I took out my 1963 Husqvarna .270 feather today for the first time in ten years or so.
It got me thinking that it would be interesting to hear of other favourites and perhaps uncommon guns.

For now I have:
63 Husqvarna .270
66 Husqvarna 30 06
2009 Kimberl 300 WSM
New .243 Sako Axis
Old ancient Russian .410
Winchester 12 ga

What are the favourites out there?

Apart from my 101 just bought unused untouched Cooey 12 single no use for it but liked it

I have a German falling block .22 made in 1929. deadly accurate.
It has a beautifull hand carved stock and the barrel has case coloring.

My favorite is an old Remington 812 single shot 12 gauge. It lives in the back seat of the truck or fits beautifully between the floor board of the quad and the gear shift. It has little to no finish, kind of rusty, only oil it gets is off the dip stick of the quad when it starts to look really rusty. Paid under $50 for it and it serves me loyaly. Shoots grouse like a champ

Default Nice guns!

I have a Winchester model 1894 lever action that was recently handed down to me from a family member. It's an old octagon barrel one and when I researched the serial number it came up as mfg in 1897.
Pretty cool old gun. It's a keeper for sure. More like a new keepsake safe queen!

Newer favourite rifle.........my Weatherby Accumark 7mm rem mag. !!!!!!!!
Cheers, Dudes2010

My Great Grandfather's 1899B in .303 Savage circa 1908. Now sports a lyman Tang mounted peep sight thanks to the generosity of a member here. Its my favourite for sure. I reload for it and it still shoots and funtions flawlessly.

I love to shoot my SVT40 and SKS. Both guns get used at the range, and mainly at the metal gongs. What I love about them is they are cheap to shoot, and loads of fun with just the right amount of recoil to know you are shooting. The SVT40 with the muzzle brake is about as light on the shoulder as the SKS, if not a bit lighter. The only down side is the noise.

My 1899C Savage in 308 is my favorite hunting rifle. It is accurate enough for any animal I shoot out to 300m if I chose, and has nice wood, and is reliable as anything. However I bought my son a 243 Axis for hunting deer, and I must say I like the cartridge. I may need to pick up a nice wood stock 243 for me!

I have an Anchutz .22 that was my dad's. That's the gun I learned how to shoot with. I still think it shoots better than me.

That's a great gun buddy bought one a few years back being under 30 I never grew up shooting much for iron sights....I was really surprised how accurate one can be with them!!!

Not nearly as old or rare but Sako 75's will always have a place in my safe!!!

This is a late model 1903 Springfield dressed up in a custom walnut stock and re-barrelled to 7x57. Absolutely stupid accurate and just a nice rifle to spend the day with.

My favorite gun is my S&W 622.

Cheap to feed, reliable , and I've shot thousands of rounds through it. I don't think I'll ever sell this thing!

Thanks!
Worn a campaign hat hunting for quite a few years now.
That squared headed goof is a pretty good bird dawg and a real photo hound as well - I always that he had a very "snooty" look about him in that pic- truth was he was "dog tired!!"!!

For me it my favorite depends a little in the mood I'm in, if I am serious/or jacking around. Currently having a Savage 17hmr, Browning White Gold Medallion X-Bolt 270 WSM, Browning Shot Show special X-Bolt 300 WSM with laminate thumbhole stock and heavy barrel stainless (both with Leupolds/CDS's), Marlin lever action 45-70 stainless, and S&W 627 Performance Center 8 shot 357 mag. My favorite at the range is the 357 and the 300 for distant targets, but the 45-70 in the woods....guess it's like kids...kinda hard to have a favorite! lol

my two favorite rifles are my 45-70 bpcr and my 1874 sharpes chambered in 45-110,and its 36 inch barrel
both will shoot clay pigeons at 300 yards with open tang sights
love the smell of the black powder, and the big puff of smoke when there go off
and the look on some unexpecting guys face when I place them in their hands
they all say the exact same words
Holy F@#%
is that heavy
