Well, he did it again!
I recently purchased a Damascus steel knife and it came with a decorative wooden sheath that would be no good in the field. The knife rattled in it and also, the leather belt loop was too wimpy for my tastes. So, I contacted
refrmek again and asked if he'd make me another sheath. He agreed.
I'm just totally blown away at the quality of his workmanship. This is a completely different style of sheath from the first one he made me and it fits like a glove. I could literally hang upside down with this knife on my belt and there's no way it could slide out of the sheath.
Below are images of the finished product.
First, the original sheath which is more decorative than functional.
The new sheath:
The knife and sheath. NOTE: This is a Damascus steel knife. It's Japanese made by
Kanetsune It's their "Shun 2" (KB251) knife and I ordered it from:
http://www.damascusknifestore.com/ (click on 'Damascus Knives' on the left and then 'Kanetsune Damascus Knives') This is without a doubt, the sharpest knife I've ever held in my hand and I worked in slaughterhouses for years back in the 80's and early 90's. I can't wait to get it out in the field.
Once again, thank you
refrmek for your fine work and willingness to help a guy out.
