Anyone know if Calgary Bass Pro is open yet or when it will be? Thought they might be open before/for the hunting season........

Depends on how the liens against the project get addressed. There are a bunch of disputes with the contractor and subtrades apparently. There's lots of pressure from Bass Pro to open on time.

Late March if not April, 09. The company I work for is doing the plumbing in that whole Cross Iron Mills mall, though I am on the service end.... rather than the construction dept.

Caber, How big is that place? I have only ever been to the one north of Toronto? Would they be about the same size? I'll be glad to leave Wholesale behind.

I personally walked through the site when they had the exterior walls up, the roof structure on, and some of the slab on grade poured along with the mezzanine areas erected in steel.

Think of your average costco or crappy tire store and add another 1/3 or so for a 'second' floor. I was impressed seeing the rough-ins for the fish tank, river, and all the other square footage. I'm sure I'll go to check it out once finished.

But that being said, I don't personally like BassPro's business tactics. That's my own opinion, so I won't be shopping there. I'm just a small guy that doesn't spend huge coin, but I'd rather deal with other pre-established stores for now unless they prove my opinions and thoughts wrong.

If my memory bank is'nt too faulty, it went from Summer '08 to Fall '08, now Spring '09.....
I'm putting my money on Summer '09.
Anyone else?

Way to much crap to deal with, contractor issues, lease issues, water issues, and when Obama takes office, getting any firearm related stuff is gonna be like pulling hen's teeth.

That's if there are any firearms related items still beng manufactured Stateside after one year of Demon-crap rule down there.

Looking at the blueprints when I was up there 2 weeks ago for a scissor-lift safety course, they said it was 133,000 square feet for the footprint of Bass Pro. Any mezzanine area would be in addition to that.

This should be stickied as there seems to be a new thread every week asking about Bass Pro
