Saw this ad on Kijiji and couldn't stop laughing at the price.

Can be done with appropriate paperwork...wonder if this guy has it? I would hope that SRD periodically checks kijiji for people selling animals/parts.

That deer would have to be a heck of a lot nicer than that, to be worth $2200!

My understanding from speaking with F&G you must apply for a permit to sell, provide the location the mount was taken, the date taken and there is a 3 year waiting period before you can sell it. A difficult process!

I too wonder if this person is selling it legally!

How many hundred times do you think it has been reported to F&G?

I hope he did it legally.

He hasn't done anything. Yet.

Most likely has no idea what the rules are. Why don't some of you concerned citizens contact the person and inform him of the ramifications of illegally selling wildlife.

And yes $2200 is a good giggle.

Agreed.. He probably has no clue and is gonna get dinged for it. Would be a straight up man thing to do to inform him of his wrong doings before he has to pay the price for it. I would but I'm at work on my phone. I'm sure his intentions are not sinister. Someone here prolly called it in already though....

Maybe he was hoping Cabellas will be looking for local mounts?

Maybe it's F&G that's listed it for sale.

Kijiji is aware of the legal issues associated with selling wildlife in Canada. Iv tried to sell a few sets of Elk Sheds thats iv found and they continually remove my ad... Although it is not illegal to sell sheds its seems they dont want to be associated with the buying or selling of wildlife.

Here is there reply to my email:

Thank you for contacting Kijiji Canada Community Support. I understand your issue and would be happy to assist you today.

On Kijiji, we do not allow any taxidermied animals to be posted. In general, the taxidermy and/or commercialization of wildlife species is strictly prohibited on Kijiji. Individuals can own wildlife mounts that they have lawfully hunted or received from a hunter. However, without the appropriate licence or permit, people buying or selling mounted game animals or migratory birds could be in violation of provincial or federal legislation. This policy also pertains to antlers, hides and other animal parts. Individuals are cautioned about attempting to buy or sell a mounted game animal or migratory bird privately or at a yard sale, flea market, auction or antique store.

Please keep in mind that even though an item is not actually illegal to own or sell, Kijiji determines its policies based on what we feel is best for our communities and these may not necessarily always be in line with the current laws. We do understand that not all of our users agree with some of our policies; however, we pride ourselves in taking a more proactive approach regarding the safety of the site.

I do apologize for this inconvenience, Brad. If you have any further questions, I would be happy to assist you. Take care and have a great day!

Best regards,

Kristen
