Default Life In The Deer Blind

It all started with Rugersingle and his wild ideas.
Stuff like let's get us some hard sided insulated blinds to replace this tents on our elevated platforms.
How? I said.
Well he gets to my place a week before the season opens, and of coarse I'm outta town with work for 3 of those days.....
So the pictures start coming.

Then more pictures.....

Then I got home, and the production escalated.

2x2 framed, 1/8" hardboard sheating, 1/8" plexiglass vertical slide windows, box liner paint for the roofs, 1/2" silverboard insulation on the walls, 1" silverboard on the roof, 1" high density foam for the floor(covered with 3/8" plywood)
Left over alkyd primer on the exterior, then the art work ensued.

We hauled them out in 5 piece bundles, plus the floor material, 3 screws in each corner and 4 screws hold down the roof.

1-1/2 hr per blind to put up.

She was -24 this morning, the propane heater could have been a bit larger but it's after 11 and I'm still here.

C'mon big feller........

I was sure thinki9ng about something like a blo90ckhouse the other day, but I hunt on Crown land, but the chances of having it vandalized or used by someone when I was going to get into it are super high- I know of three tree stands that were stolen in the area, one instance had cut the danged tree down so the stand could be removed!
I think I will have to re-adjust and buy a ground blind maybe.
Crap, I think I just got old!!

Just picked this rechargeable power stick from canadian tire, came with a 75w inverter, $40.
Rugersingle managed a combined 135% recharges of his iPhone yesterday, I just did an 85% top up of my iPhone an hour ago, I'll see what I get for a top up later. Way easier than solar panels and batteries.

But I do like the way you think....

Time stamp 11:08 am last post 2:18pm.

That is a long time, did you stay till dusk?

Is that the same location that your son scored last year?

10.5hrs in the blind yesterday.
This is the time of year where sitting known travel corridors, that lead to repeated scrape lines, pays dividends.
If it was just "a deer" I wanted to harvest, I would have been done on day 2 of the season.
Waiting for "the deer" always seems to take a bit longer.

This blind is where two bucks were taken last season, mine, and my sons.

Hit the seat in the blind at 7:10 this morning.....already have seen deer.

I like that maybe. It doesn't come up online at CT website? I'll have to check it out. I don't want or need a 75w inverter, but I like the rechargeable charger. The recharger has a standard USB fitting on it?

USB, and it's own mini USB, it can be recharged in the truck with the cig lighter, or can be plugged into a charge point that takes a USB, then the mini USB gets used on the stick. I was wrong on the price, $35@ the DV, CT, they had at least 6 left as of last night, they are in the clear out/specials bins by the check outs.

Item # on the stick is 299-0429-2

Or there is this item too.

Age and experience, will overcome all adversity.

And just because you're hunting doesn't mean you have to give up comfort....

And here we go again, we don't do, like you do, so you derail a good thread.
