Default Found a good job - one of the best

I put a resume in at Wholesale Sports and and they asked me in for an interview the next day. They wanted me to start at the gun counter that afternoon. Unfortunately, I had to wait until the next day. I just finished my second day and I've been really enjoying it. I'll have a steep learning curve for a while yet, especially in reloading but they are really happy with my work so far. I'll be doing research on lots of things at this box for a while.

Edmonton has a couple e-collars in. I've had my eye on the two collar system there for $380 for a couple weeks now. There is also an e-fence e-collar combo there. I'll ask about getting a few more e-collars in. They seem to like Innotek.

When people say "the chuck" in my experience they are refering to "the salt-chuck" or the ocean.

Never heard of Edmonton refered to as "the chuck" before.

Good luck on your new job NHM.

Default Edmonchuck

I think Edmonchuck came from the high Ukrainian content. Sort of like the gateway to the Yukon saying. (because there is a Uke on every corner)

I think I actually met you last Thursday at the gun counter as I was in looking for a Scope for the Ruger K10/22T, landed up not buying a scope from the store as the buddy I was there with volunteered that he had a spare (new in box) 4-12x40 Bushnell that he would part with very cheap.
Congrats on the new job, I hope it works out well for you.

Hey Duffy,

It's a pretty commonly used slang term here in Calgary, however I'm not sure about the Ukrainian part though. From what I understand of it's origin's is well....uh...well.... Oh hell, I think it is a vomiting reference. Sorry.

Yup...totally a Ukrainian reference. Think about how many Ukrainian names end in "chuck". I'm sure it was never meant to be offensive. It just means there are lots of Ukrainians in Edmonton.

If you are looking for E-collars look at the Collar Clinic (I eastern US) on the Web. Good people that do a great job of fixing collars with prompt service I have used them for over 15 years now. they sell all the top brands and also sell total reconditioned units ....puphood

Congrats on the job.

Now, when they train you in "proper customer service techniques" just ignore them OK?

Looking for an over /under 28 or 20 ga. Let me know what you have and I would be a happy man to buy it off you. Best of luck in the job. With a bit of luck you will last longer than most. Was in there today and out of 20 or so employees recognized the cashier.
