Default So, I'm selling a snowmobile on kijiji and I have a potential buyer....

After they respond saying they are interested in my "ATV snowmobile" I respond with;

It's a Goblowmeha and I'm asking $100,000,000
>
> Let me know who I can give all my personal information to and I'll get right on that.
>
>
> Sent from my iPhone

Then I get this response;

Thank you for getting back to me. Can you assure me that i will not be disappointed with it. I'm ready to pay your asking price, i'm buying this for my son.I would have love to come for the viewing by the weekend, but My place is way too far from there in which i am located in yukon in canada So i thought of how to make this transaction work between us, which i came to conclusion with my husband to use a courier company to pick up the item from your place but we will send the money to your account first and after you get the money in your account, the pick up company will come to help us carry it As for the payment..i will be paying you via the fastest and secure way to pay online(PayPal)..You can now send me your PayPal email so i can pay in right away and also include your address in your reply.If you don't have a paypal account, you can easily set up one...log on to www.paypal.com and sign up. its very easy.get back to me with all this request information..
1.The lowest you can go for the price
2.Your PayPal Full Name
3.Your Paypal E-mail address.
4. Your phone number.
5.remove the item on kijiji.
Best Regards,

So then I respond;

Ok, I'll do it but first I need you and your husband to engage in certain sex acts with a donkey and a dancing monkey, film it, then send me the film along with a signed release form. It's nothing too weird so you can be assured both you and your husband will recover with a little counselling from a good psychotherapist. It's real easy and normal, I conduct all my kijiji transactions like this, do we have a deal?

I sure hope we can make a deal on this one!

Far too many of these POS scammers on kijiji. I hate going on there now. Used to be a great place to buy and sell stuff. Now it's just a gong show....

Life's too short to get worked up over Internet scammers, you should hear me with telemarketers. The lucky ones get to hear my lunatic rant, if I'm busy I just ask them if they can hold on a minute, then I put the phone in the bathroom and continue with what I was doing until I hear the busy tone ringing from my phone.

I just sold a truck on Kijiji...everytime I updated the ad I had a very similar 'Paypal' scam text within 30 minutes. The ratio of scammers to 'real people' was easily 8:1.

I ended up selling the truck for cash, but the scammers were a PITA.

I just laughed out loud! absolutely awesome!

I had a guy call me a few months ago and try and sell me some bullcrap on the phone, instead of hanging up I chose to hear him out just to get a laugh. as soon as he was done, he asked if I was interested. my response was
" hey bud Ive got a 2010 Dodge cummins diesel for sale. its 5 k underpriced, you should really think about buying it, you could make some serious cash on THIS deal, you interested?

it was awesome!
He hung up on me

Sounds like the "lady" that wanted to buy a piece of heavy equipment off of me that I had on kijiji. Lived on the east coast and wanted to get it shipped there sight unseen.
Ya right.

On the other hand, I had a guy with a thick accent call me insisting that he wanted the machine for sure. I told him to come next day with cash or no deal. Well didn't think he'd show up, but he was right on time with a wad of green backs and we sealed the deal.

Smile The courier company?

In addition to your videos, it would be nice to get the cuffs on these guys.

Anyway good work.

Easiest thing I find to push away telemarketers is when the ask for the head of the household I say wait one second. I quickly open up some dirty videos from the free places on the net(Don't want to actually write them in cause I don't get paid for advertising), then set the phone by the grunting and screaming sounds for a couple seconds, pick it up and talk out of breath saying I am too busy to talk right now. If they are still there they are quickly gone

I have a truck on KIJIJI, got an email that "Adele" is interested and she is willing to pay the asking price, but I had to fill out this certain form first with the vin number.

I asked her if she was Local, and she kept referring to "car" and I asked her if she could verify make and model of the vehicle.

No response, but just kept asking that she wants the vin number.

So I don't understand how those low life scumbags can sleep at night.

I did however notify KIJIJI and gave them the email.

@sewerrat

I had an "Adele" too saying she would buy my car for asking price. Seemed legit though.....didn't ask for the vin number like she did you but was really demanding....Saying she wanted a government approved history report of the car that she wanted me to show her "in person face to face". I was like whatever! you go check it yourself...So I gave her my VIN number to check the car out...bad idea? Iv had people give me their vin numbers before when I wanted to check the vehicle out before buying it.....

Anyone ever get a guy named "Lawrence" saying he's willing to give you an additional 700 dollars to your asking price? Got that one a few times....

I always ask for VIN when researching vehicles... You would be surprised how many people don't own the vehicle they are selling and how may vehicles have liens on them. As for the scammers... dealt with one years ago regarding a motor home. Had fun with that one.

They want you to fil out a form from vehiclehistory.co which is based out of the states and a scam.

Then not only will I be rich from the $100,000,000 dollars I'm asking for the sled, I'll keep the money coming in from the royalties they signed away on the release form.

I'm not holding my breath tho, it's been over 24hrs and still no response

It would be my personal preference to opt out of email communication as an option on that site.
It would be easy for kijiji to offer.
As a seller, why not have that option? It would solve the annoying emails.

Thats just screwed. Had a guy three years ago deposit $14,000 into my bank account for a motorcycle I was selling for a friend. He never came and saw the bike, and the money was in my account before he had a bill of sale. Needless to say he was lucky I try to be an honest man. Lol
