Almost everything will give you cancer or kill you.

Bacon is not a meat. It is a piece of heaven, heaven is good for you and so is bacon. Say any different and you will go to hell...its in a book I read once.

http://nypost.com/2015/06/20/worlds-...d-brooklynite/

The oldest person in the world lives in Brooklyn — and even she can’t believe it.

Susannah Mushatt Jones, 116 next month, of East New York, has inherited the title of the oldest living person since the death of Jeralean Talley, 116, from Inkster, Mich., this week, according to the Gerontology Research Group.

“This Sunday I asked her, ‘Do you know how old you are?’ ” said the centenarian’s niece Lois Judge, of Coney Island. “She said, ‘No, tell me.’ ”

Jones was born in 1899 to Alabama sharecroppers. She was married briefly and had no children.

Her family insists she has no secrets to living a long life — except maybe her hearty appetite.

She eats four strips of bacon, eggs and grits for breakfast “365 days per year,” her niece said.

“She was cooking until she was 100 years old — everything from the South, all kinds of food, okra, collard greens, cakes and pies. All recipes from her mother,” Judge said.

It's not how long you live but how you live that's important. If a few strips of bacon makes you happy, have at 'er.

Actually way more interesting watching other experts tear this study apart. Puts a big question mark on the credibility of the WHO. Common thread seems to be the nitrides in the product.Bottom line is still, All things in Moderation.

Default It's from the anti-semitic baby-touchers at the UN.

What a coincidence.

http://www.unep.org/pdf/unep-geas_oct_2012.pdf

The UN sure has it in for meat eaters.

I will be redoubling my efforts to consume more meat, as this is a load of horse-hockey and it will taste twice as good knowing it ****es off the losers in the UN. Besides, you wanna live forever or live good?

Just another attempt at social engineering by the UN. I'm sure lots will fall for it. Hope the price of prime rib goes down, and the bacon I'll be eating as a side.

If you all the right things, the way you eat, and exercise, and live a stress free life, and all that other good stuff.....you're still going to die if I'm not completely mistaken. All things in moderation, including red meat, bacon, whisky, cigars, chocolate, coffee and a long list of other dangerous substances. The #1 cause of death is being born in the first place.

Nitrites are present in everything we eat, we get the vast majority in our diet from vegetables.

Default Very happy with this ...?

I am now hoping that the benevolent socialist overlords of AB will now ban bacon. I am going to stock up. I wish to change careers and become a bacon smuggler. I will be bringing it in from SK and selling it out of vans in mall parking lots. "Psst .. 3 slices of Applewood smoked for $10 ..."
What a useless waste of space and $ the UN has become (?).
On a related note, did anyone else watch "The Last Man on Earth" on TV last night. Basic theme was the frozen bacon hoarding and consumption of 2 of the guys. Too funny (?).

Since when is the UN and the WHO worried about what is going to kill us? Are they not the authors of population control? Add into that most of the "upright and outstanding members" are all guilty of committing genocide in their own countries.

Take this one step further and the red meat factor is an attack on beef cows, creators of methane and consumers of grain.

As if I am going to stop cooking and eating meat over the fire. I come from a long line of meat eaters.

Besides... there will be a time when all those "healthy" people are going to feel really confused when they die of nothing.

If you dont believe it, just look at how many people throughout history have eaten meat, and how many of them are dead. Case closed!

Default I know!!!!

The Government should just ban death so that nobody will die!

Do you have any idea how many people are killed by death every year in North America? (I don't know the exact number but I'm guessing it's a lot.)How about the rest of the World where climate change is a huge concern and even more people are killed by death than here! We need to save all of them the same way we need to save everybody else.

We have to let the government decide everything for us so that we can all be saved from death and never be forced to die. They need to ban as from living so that we don't die.

Our leader has a lot of experience doing something so he will know what's best for all of us. That's why he decides what to ban and what not to ban.

Default data manipulation

Well... Another perfect example of data misrepresentation and manipulation in the mass-media.
They say "... increases the risk of colorectal cancer over a lifetime by about 18 per cent" but don't care to say that this is 18% of the 5% (average colon cancer risk). Will anyone notice the difference between 5% and 5.9%?

Modest amounts of Red meat and bacon are OK. If you want to live long "choose
your parents wisely" Eat more moose, elk or deer. Eating red or processed meat will increase you chance for cancer from 5-7% by maybe 1-2%, Smoking will increase your chance of cancer by 150%. They believe it is the polycyclic compounds probably produced when you sear the hell out of a steak produced from the fat.
