Default Would you kill this bear?

I've been trying to get a crack at this bear. Problem is he has only been to the bait one night and time is running out! Yes that is a 45 gallon drum.

Oh yah no problem.. That ain't no 2 year old you got there thats a nice bear. You pass that one up it may be a while till you get a chance at another like it.

If you get the chance again take it..

I wouldn't kill it because I'm looking for a chocolate brown one this year... IF I was looking for a nice black bear, no doubt I'd be on that one like nobody's business.

That looks like good bear, low belly, no legs showing, big neck, small ears and a long way from the ear to eye, if he has flat top on his pumpkin head, 20" 7 foot sqaure likley, shoot him, they don't get much bigger.

Nice bear. You might call me crazy with this thought but I am going to say it anyways. I think it is a sow. No crease in the forehead for such a big mature bear and the head is long and skinny. Big fat body and if it is a sow then it is one of the biggest I have seen but that is my thought.

In the first picture it looks like an absolute toad, but not as much in the second and third pic, still big though. A giant boar should look huge at all angles, but less than perfect photos from a trail cam can make it tough. I still think it is a boar because of the first pic (long, thick neck).

I saw a sow very similar to this a number of years ago while sitting a bait. If there was not 2 yearlings with it I would not have believed it. Monster fat body, very decieving. It was a very big fat bear, but lacked in length which is very difficult to judge- even at under 20 yards away.

Cut a log exactly 5' long and lay it next to the can. When the bear has its head down feeding (the footprint of the bears length, not with its nose stretched out) if it is not as long as the log it is a sow. as long or longer than the log = 6'+ bear.

I have no doubt this is a boar. This is the biggest bear I have ever gotten a picture of at one of our baits. I don't think his crease shows up well due to the camera angle. It may be tough to see but he has scars all over his muzzle. The first pic is a little decieving because of the angle. My thoughts were he is between 350-400 pounds and the skull would go 19-20". It's been 2 weeks with no more pics of him and we can not figure out where he could have gone to. Clocks ticking with only 3 nights left but anything is possible.

Probally off looking for company lol. I had one hitting on of my baits last year every night. Right before it got dark I would hear it crashing but it was always a no show and then the next day the barrel was like completely raped lol. Maybe try a bear bomb sow in heat flavour worth a try at least.

It was just a thought and if it has scas liek you said ,good chance it is a boar. Tough to tell with the pictures but it is a nice bear for sure. If it has been hitting the bait and is off of it now good chance it is a boar and he is just lookin for a lady. If it was a sow then it should be on the bait every evening. Good luck
