Default Albertarelm rant

So I'm thinking

"This is simple, just buy my tags online, those government officials are getting with the times, good on them."

I tried it and its a pain in the *ss! You have to buy one item at a time and pay for, re-enter credit card info etc etc. Must be there per transaction fee they are shooting for doing it this way. I'll just buy em the old way!

The old way is the best way. You get the nice clear font too....and if you're like me and you can't read your own writing...that's a bonus.

I thought buying them one at a time was a bit annoying, but there was no special transaction fee. All I paid for was the tag cost and GST. After I bought the first tag, I bought the second one and the only thing I had to re-enter was the 3 digit security code. I logged out, at one point, and logged back in and I had to re-enter everything, but as long as I stayed logged in, it was all there.

I like the system, I bought WT, Supp Antlerless WT, Elk and Moose tags all online in the comfort of my underwear.

I bought mine online and had no problem with it.

Actually I did have 1 problem, I ran out of the tags that they sent me.

For anyone who's organized, buying online is the only way to go.

I'm highly organized but I still prefer to go in, although, my trip usually consists of more than just tags so it works for me

Organized? I'm not sure what that has to do with buying online. I just didn't feel like getting dressed. And if you think I'm organized, you should really look at my computer desk. It follows that saying "A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind".

i bought mine in my underwear too, but i previously stopped by a fish & wildlife office to pick up extras, as i will again for next years tags too, stay logged on and its pretty quick but agree it would be nice if it was like putting in for draws and you could buy say 4 at a time if you wanted....

you know what your getting doing it that way, where as at the store you might have a frustrating wait due to 'great service' you find behind some of those counters these days....and waiting in line first before you get your turn to deal with this 'great service' is just icing on the cake i prefer not to have....so yup, i'm gonna keep doing it online.....first time and i loved it!

I have no idea what my password is, never got to register on the site.
Went to the "forgot my password" box, got redirected to the beginning. Went to WSS and bought then over the counter the old fashioned way. Not impressed.

It means you need to have the blank tags before you start buying licenses. yes they sent out 2 this year to everyone, but I need like 7 tags so I had to pick some up for F&W during the great service hours they have.

I've had the displeasure of buying tags and licenses in Ontario where you have to deal with people that don't really know the rules and regs or procedures and its a PITA.

AlbertaRELM is fantastic - I used to spend 1+ hours at the gas station or CDN tire telling those people how to operate the machine for draws and licenses .... it so much better now.

I'll be sure to purchase my tags in my underwear this year while having a coffee just to put an exclamation mark on this post.

Sorry to all the people having trouble, its a great site if you take a little time to figure out a few things (Example: a bunch more options of things to purchase appear after you purchase a wildlife certificate)

Default tags

Lets see, bought a bear tag in the spring at the sporting goods place, took 20 minutes + 30 minutes driving to and from the place, had 2 screw ups complete with reprints, I apparentley wasn't in as much of a hurry as I thought at the time.
Printed off 7 tags at home in 10 minutes, no screw ups and fresh coffee as well. Used tags that were sent in the rejection letters from the family's draw applications and I will pick up a hand full from F&W next time I am down town.
Seems easy to me.

Terry

The real question is, though, were you in your underwear?
