Default What is this?

I know this is a bit of a long shot on a poor description picture but looking for any knowledge or input on what this motor is. Other than a
115 evinrude haha. Looking at buying this motor to put on an old boat with similar size motor the in-laws have. Just curious on model/age era, good and bad?
Thanks in advance everyone

I had a 70hp evinrude of the same design and colours. It was a tank. Loved it. Still going strong for its new owner. Mine was a 1976.

Heh! I had the same (not sure if it was a '76 or '77). I didn't have it long, but it served me very well.

I only had a 1967 5hp RUDE on my 12 ft tinner. Ran great always. Sold both 6 yrs ago and now wish I didn't. Good price you buy it. Parts for that size might be hard to find cause of the year it is. The year should be stamped on the side somewhere. That motor looks clean and awesome shape. That is one of the first motors I learned to water ski behind. Strong and great pull ya up. WHEEEEEEEE

Get the serial / model number off of it and Google it. You can find out exactly what year it is . But I agree looks like 76/77

Evinrude changed the cowling decals every couple model years - it's CRAZY to see so many different designs every year or two ..... this particular one matches the 1977 model year decals with the bronze gold paint on the motor itself.

Produced late 76 thru end of 77 .... so it looks like some guys nailed it !!!!

Evinrudes, since the 70's alone, have come in black, grey, white, bronze/gold, dark blue ..... etc... etc...

Truly a classic right there ....

This was the best era for reliability for Evinrude in my opinion.
