Default Elk hunting??

Good Evening,

I will get to the point, I would like to take one of or both of my daughters with me while i am elk hunting next year.

The background is i have been in Edmonton since the fall of 2005 and am just starting to experience the joys of hunting in alberta. Just got 2 WT does last year. I am a hunter and have been for a long time and am trying to pass this experience on, unfortunatly my work makes it very hard for me to plan, scout, and hunt. Actually the planning is easy but work usually changes it last minute. I am in the military (combat engineer) and am constantly sent off doing courses or training or exercises or tours of some sort.(i understand its my own choice to do the job)
What i would like to do is ask some farmers or land owners if they have problems with elk and if i could hunt on their land to try to help by removing at least one, as well as being able to let the Ladies help with something i feel is very noble. Taking an elk, Bull or Cow as a trophy. I would like to contact anyone who has this elk problem (you can pm me if you like) so i can apply for tags if necessary (cow or bull - land owners choice) and, if i am not away in the fall come and take an elk.

I am willing to walk in and would like to chat with and possibly meet any land owners who would be willing to help. If this is too forward then perhaps some advice in gaining access or permission would be helpful because have only hunted on crown before and i would not like to do this last minute although it always seems as that is the way.

Thanks in advance

Mike

There was a post just the other day with a farmer having an elk problem. Check out the thread:

or Problem Elk.
Hope that helps!
Cheers!
