Default A.T.T. question

My ATT expires in six months and was wondering if anyone knows how quik they are at renewing them?
Can i just go downtown to the CFO's office and get it done there or do I have to mail it in to Miramichi?

I renewed mine last winter after having let it expire years ago and expected a big hassel. I was amazed at how easy it was and how accommodating they were. Phone the CFC, follow the automated prompts and you will get rerouted back to the CFO's office in Edmonton where a very helpful lady will tell you what to do. As I recall, all they wanted was the number off my PAL and a copy of my pistol club membership card. I faxed these things to her and received my ATT in the mail in just a few days. Piece of cake.

everything is done on a provincial level, not sure what they are like now, but mine from 4 years ago is good for 24 hrs a day to any range in manitoba, sask, alberta, bc, yukon and the territories.

Renewed mine in February and had it as soon as i turned on the fax machine. They would only give it for Alberta though and if you want to shoot in BC,Saskatchewan,Manitoba you need a invite from the range your going to for a STATT.I wasn't happy about the last part.

Thanx for all the input, i had heard the new ATT's were much more restrictive than the old ones, sigh.
The one i currently have give me free reign for all of AB ranges, gunsmiths and border crossings.
Seems like they are going back to when i first got into it and could only transport to my own range and home and nowhere else.
Not like i went anywhere but chas and phoenix but i could have if i wanted to. oh well. life goes on i spose.

Did they require the legal land description of your gun club?
I think i have it somewhere for the CHAS club?
But as a CHAS member i can shoot at Phoenix aswell although i have no documentation saying so. It is my understanding with the new ATT's they want to know exactly where you will be shooting?
GAWD I hope you don't have to put down specific times for shooting?
right now my ATT is good for 24/7 365 days a year .

As far as i know this information is incorrect. I renewed mine in November, and it is valid for all AB ranges, gunsmiths and border crossings. I suppose things could have changed in the last 3-4 months. I still think it is a rhetorical, ridicuolus requirement. A valid RPAL should be enough.

No they didn't ask for the legal description of the land where the club's range is located but they did want the legal description of my home location and it appears on my ATT.
My ATT was issued Jan 13, 2010 and expires Apr 7, 2011 concurrent with my PAL. I believe the lady at the CFO office told me that, when I apply for renewal of both the PAL and the ATT in 2011, they will issue both with the same expiry date - ie. the ATT will be good for 5 years, the same as the PAL.
My ATT covers "transport to all approved ranges, licensed gunsmiths and border crossings in Alberta" . Frquency of transport is "daily" . No times are specified.
