Default Fishing from an inflatable boat?

Would i be able to fish from an inflatable boat. I would just use it to float on the Pembina river. Is that possible? I am not talking like a zodiac i mean like a small 2 person inflatable boat.

I fish from mine. You definitely have to watch out for your backcast, first time out I stuck a big treble hook into the bow. Fortunately it takes a while to sink might want to carry a repair kit or some duct tape

I wouldn't do it...
You're much better off to find a 'decent' inflatable for fishing any river. You certainly don't need a Zodiac or Zebec either. Those Sevylor boats and stuff are on the thin side and I'd be worried about debris, hooks, etc...

You can purchase Brand new Inflatables for around a grand and REALLY good quality boats, complete with Aluminum Floors, oars, pump, etc, etc and they can be had for around $1600.00 bucks.
If you're not willing to spend the cash, I'm pretty sure that you can rent them too.

Cheers,

I have an Intex Seahawk II. I got it at Wal-Mart, but it's tough. I've dragged it over rocks and through trees and it's fine. You can get a motor mount and put a 30-lb electric motor on it. I paid $200, but I think they are cheaper now.

Default Nearly 25 years, no problems

I have fished out of a blaze orange Metzler with wooden floorboards and motor mount for 24 years.

Most stable craft to cast out of. However, never been a fan of the color, I am looking for a pram or jon boat.

But the inflatable has served me and my father very very well. Only 3 leaks in that time, easy enough to fix.

I have fished out of my Coleman Inflatable for years its great if your dont have a trailer or a big car.
I also glued 2x 1" pink styrofoam together, then glued a piece of masonite to the top of that. Sealed it and waterproofed the masonite with a polyurthane.

Now when I go to setup the boat on shore, I place the styrofoam floor in first then inflate the inner chamber followed by the outter chamber, I DO NOT inflate the floor. I am now able to stand on the floor of the boat all the way down the Bow or lake. Its great!!, also if you were to hook into the boat that styrofoam would be able to get you to shore no problem.

Its funny to see people 's reactions on shore when I go floating by standing fly fishing...it is also 100x eaiser to land a fish in my boat with the floor.

I am in the process of moving so all my crap is in storage, I will try to find some pics if you guys are intrested.
