Was hosting a flyfishing class Friday night on the NSR. Was a great night for getting students on the fish. There were 4 different hatches coming off 3 different mayflies (2 duns and one spinner variety) and a small caddis. The fish were rising everywhere and the students eager to get into some. For 2 hours of class we landed and released 32 mooneye and 1 Goldeye.(Never seen the Mooneye outnumber the Goldeye) Great night for teaching drifts. Took some pics of the mooneye as I know there were a few folks who weren't sure what the eye looked like. Check the bronze crescent shape over the pupil. A Goldeye's eye would be solid gold except for the black retina in the middle. I will post a pic of the Goldeye eye when I get a better quality shot.

Was your class here in E-Town? Are there any good spots to get Mooneye and Goldeye on the fly close to the city? I have been dying for someplace to get some fish on the fly that won't require a 3.5 hour drive to the Nordegg area or further south.
NSR Mooneye:
NSR Goldeye:
With various people asking about the difference, I've been meaning to post the Moonie pic for a while. Hope this clears up some confusion.
