Smile Korkers boot coming out with a new sole

I just received an email from Korkers Boot company. Apparently they are going to be coming out with their new non evasive felt sole in their fly fishing boot this year. From what information I can gather it will be in their guide boot model. I was told they are going to only have 400 pairs made this fall. Mine should arrive sometime in January. I can't wait to get out on the water with them. Mind you it will probably be -40 at that time.

Not sure how it will stand up. But I'll put my pair through the paces.

Honey, looks like we need to head down south this winter for a fly fishing trip.

Im in the market for new boots. I bought some korkers last August and by this August they were ready for the trash can. The seams are coming apart and im not even sure if they'll last the rest of the season. Id say i got about 60 days on them. I thought i had taken good care of them. I rinsed them(fishing stuff stinks). I have a boot rack to hang them to dry. They just seemed to lack a bit of quality. As for the new sole, that is the only part of those boots that i liked. The rubber soles were grippy and stayed on during some steep hiking in to fishing holes.

Okay so the sole is non evasive, what about the rest of the materials? Can they carry mud on there anywhere else? Will it get caught between the sole and boot? The only way to know for sure is to clean them well and use some bleach.

fishstix - call Korkers and see what they'll do for you.

I just talked to them because my 3 year old boots (with no less than 200 days on them) are having problems and they gave me a fantastic deal on a new pair (less than half retail).

With the option to put cleated soles in for winter fishing, the laceless system, the low cost of lace and boa replacement, the ability to replace soles easily when they wear out, and the awesome customer service, I won't go anywhere else.

I agree with fishstix. My korkers are only 2 years old, and are coming apart at the seams. They just dont seem to have the durability to handle intense walking and wading. Having said that, I really like the concept and will probably buy a new pair.

I never had much luck with Korkers. 3 pairs in 3 years was enough Last year I picked up the Simms G4 with the Vibram soles , they've spent at least 150 days on the water not to mention probably close to 100km of hiking in and out of the bush and into many a backcountry lake. They still look like they're brand new after a rinse , no seams coming apart hardly any wear on the soles (which was my initial concern)

I think I'd have to see some pretty outstanding reviews on the new Korkers before I'd go back

If they are coming apart at the seams you can pretty much guarantee they are too loose and your feet are moving around and putting stress on the seams. I always make sure my boots fit snug with my waders on, even if that means using an extra thick pair of socks. 3rd season on my Korkers (100+ days this year already) and they still look new.

My old Korkers are about 4 years old. They have at least a minimum of 200 days on them. I am not a small guy. I weigh over 250. So I put some stress on my boots when I wear them. I have only had a problem now and it's with my sole of the boot not any seam coming appart.

Korkers have been great for everyone that I've talked to who's taken the time to actually contact them and send in the boots.

So Fishstix have you at least contacted Korkers? They can't fix a problem if they don't know about it.
