Default Where is the closest fishing to Peter Lougheed Hospital?

I've a friend who is suffering bad with Parkinsons and loves to fish. I recently got a boat which is stable enough to take him out and have arranged for another helper. My friend is a full time patient at the Peter Lougheed. I'm from southern Alberta and generally fish south and east of High River.

I'm wondering if there is a lake with a launch and preferably a stable dock close to the N.E. part of Calgary. I have no idea how he will handle the day so I want to get him on the water as quickly as possible once we pick him up. On the other hand I also want him to get a fish or two. He likes to fish for pike and walleye. Any thoughts and information would be most appreciated. Rick.

X2. It is $40 to launch a boat there. There are lots of amenities around. I have seen people fishing off the the cement boardwalk, too (though I've never seen anything caught there). The boardwalk is the public "dock."

I haven't personally seen a whole lot come out of Chestermere, but maybe some Chestermere regulars would be willing to send you a PM with a nice location or too: given the circumstances.

Yep Chestermere all the way. $40 to launch like others have mentioned, or find a buddy who lives there and borrow their pass.

Caught some hammerhandles there on hard water but nothing yet in open water.
