I have been wondering myself about Carson but everytime I go by there lately I have my rifle with me so I have not been in there.

Has anyone been out to Sauer or Chikakoo? How is it now that the weather warmed up and the wind has been blowing? I'm dying to get out but want to stay dry.

I would still be very carefull as it might be 8 in one place and 2 in other places. This time of year can be tricky. Goes for all lakes for about 4 more weeks. Never ever really safe unless -30 for 2 months str8.

Careful with Chickacoo...there's a couple sketchy spots with springs under them. Was there last Saturday and all looked fine...came back the next day and there was a big crack with open water that sat there bubbling all day...

Where on the lake was this report at. I am just wondering because another post said the ice varied from 3-6 inches.

Default Carson lake

hey guys went to Carson lake this morning there were a couple other guys there but yeah anyway the ice there is great 4-5 " of ice 6" in some spots it was a good day caught my limit in 2 hours

Also went to hassie lake the ice there is sketchy made it out about 60 feet fished for an hour no luck at all only 3-4 " of ice near the dock everywhere else is pretty thin and would not suggest to go out there yet

Spring lake as well is very thin ice did not even bother but yeah whitcourt are is your best bet for now nice cold weather it was -10 there today as in edmonton it was -3 u can see the difference in the lakes

Anyone else got any good lakes too suggest ...
