Default Taxidermist Red Deer?

My brother got himself a nice whitetail this year and wants to get it mounted. He lives in Red Deer, I don’t know any of the taxidermists in that part of the country. Does anyone know of reputable taxidermists for whitetail in and around Red Deer?

Marco at sugarcreek taxidermy does really good work. one of the guys I hunt with has had him do 20plus heads. His rates are reasonable and the wait time for your deer is only about six months. If interested let me and I will get his # for you

If your buddy has the time to wait I suggest he takes a look at mountainview taxidermy. He has a display at our big game banquet every year and I have not seen better. His shop is located in Olds.

I agree, Marco at Sugar Creek Taxidermy does fine work, and a shoulder mount with him is only $495 compared to $725 for Dwight and $1000+ for Lorne. Also a shorter wait time. You can call Marco at (403) 597 - 5667 or email him at sugarcreek2006@hotmail.com

Default High Point

I'll second for High Point out of Rimbey did a great job on my two hunting partners WT's last year. Didn't really take to long either. One day I will get something I want to hang on the wall.

Both Dwight at Bucks Plus and Lorne at Echoe Glen have done work for me. 14 mounts altogether. Both do excellent work and I'd recommend either of them.

Default Sugar Creek

Gotta get my 2 cents worth in for Marco at Sugar Creek taxidermy. After seeing his work at the Sportsman show last March i knew where i was going next. He's done a Whitetail for me,a Bear and this years Elk is in the process. He's very professional and has a great turnaround rate and the best $ price around.

Have to vote for Marco at Sugarcreek Taxidermy. Hands down the best work I have ever had done. It's not just a mount, it is artistically done. Creating true scenes to where the animal was taken. Prices are awesome.

dont cheap out on a $500 dollar mount
go with mcarthur

Hey KJP did your brother find a Taxi to his liking?

Schatz
The price tag is no the way to measure quality!! Go see and see for yourself and make up your mind from an informed position. I'm in no way trying to 'knock' echo glen or anyone else. All I'm saying is go take a look at these guys' work for yourself. I'm sure that any of you would be pleased with the work from Sugar Creek. The added bonus is that the price is better than most and turn around is excellent.

Thanks to those who recommended Sugarcreek. Dropped in last week and liked the looks of the mounts in his studio so I'm getting Marco to do my mulie.

Default cant go on price to judge mounts

You defintely cant go by price for mounts. Schaffer did Kelly's mule deer and both the ears are splitting, Cost $750 and not happy with it. The whitetail High Point did was not as high in price and did a better job then the one that cost more. Got to look at work and go from there. Big dollar dont mean best mount.

Couldn't agree with you more. You have to see the taxidermist's mounts, price does not indicate the quality of the work. I hear that Marco from Sugarcreek Taxidermy will be at the Mother of all Shoots again this year. For those of you that live around Red Deer come and see his work.

Default Thanks Guys

Just a Thanks to the people that recommended Marco @ Sugar Creek he is truly an artist I dropped off three heads yesterday with no hesitation after talking to the man. Not only is he an artist but just an all around pleasure to deal with I am sure I will not be disapointed.

I took a bunch of pic's but here's one just to show the detail and creativity note the water Drops on the wisker hairs cool.

I had Marco HIGHLY recomended for my Alberta whitetail deer..his service was fast and AMAZING detail in the finished product..it looks so lifelike that you'd think the deer was STILL alive. By copmparison I have had some of my other taxidermy done by some of the best here in BC ie Mr Jack Gibson trophy Wildlife etc.. Marco's work was every bit as good in quality and life like appearance.I am 100 % satisfied and when I come out to beautiful Alberta agin this fall and If Im lucky enough to get a bigger whitey or a big muley they will be staying in Red Deer @ Marcos..Sugar Creek Taxidermy..highly recomended.
