Default Photo Software

Can anyone recomend some photo editing software that I can download free off the net. I know there are probably hundreds but all I want to do is zoom in and crop and maybe a few extras. Let it be known I ain't no computer guru. hehe

Thanks.

Did you get any software with the camera? Most cameras come with some kind of basic editing tools.

Photoshop Elements isn't free but it is cheap and offers more features than the average user will ever learn. It is included with many cameras.

Yes software did come with the camera but won't let me zoom in and capture what I want and turn it to a new pic.

You could try the Adobe Elements that Sheep mentioned. Pretty sure you can try it free for 30 Days from their website.

I don't mind paying if it does what I want and is cheap. I heard the full version of photoshop costs thousands. What you said may be the answer.

I have found this program to be easy, free and good for a beginner hope it works for you

http://www.photopos.com/

Photo Pos Pro is a free photo editor with advanced features and a well-designed interface. From the developer: "Though the Photo Pos Pro software is a powerful program, it contains an extremely user-friendly interface enabling you to work intuitively. If you are a beginner you can easily begin to use the program in an intuitive fashion. With the Help system, you can turn from a beginner to a professional user."

Well the boys were supposed to be working instead of playing around with whiskey jacks. hehe

If you're just looking for very basic zoom, crop, exposure, color change (change to b&w, etc), why not just use your built-in "Windows Photo Gallery". It does all that and you already have it. Fixes red-eye. You can make slideshows, burn onto CD, email...pretty much everything basic for a beginner.

Yup looked on my computer and I do have that program. There is stuff on here I never seen or have used before. hehe Same with my laptop. Long as I can connect to the internet the rest is a bonus.

Thanks to all.

You can download Adobe Photoshop free on a 30 day trial. If your needs are short-term and non-commercial that is an option.

If you want a free editing suite check out sourceforge.net
Sourceforge is a collection of open source programs. they have everything there from web code to business software to video and photo editing. Some are a work in progress, others are near perfect. Check out the reviews on the site to see what you are getting before you download.

Good luck.
