Default Stolen

Hey guys first thing my truck was stolen Sunday at 3 pm its a big orange and black quadcab long box ford harley truck with 22" wheels and a 6 inch lift so kinda hard to miss. I had tons of goodies on it including a twin turbo cummins so it is probably being stripped to nothing but if by chance any one sees her send me a PM. After all the insurance is delt with if it does not get found I am looking for suggestions on a new truck, I have it down to a new 2011 ford 6.7,2010 6.4 ford or a dodge diesel of some kind, but really leaning towards the new fords as I hear the motors are great. Any advice or experinces would be great thanks.

Sorry to hear about the loss.

For, when it comes to looking for a new truck I would be weary of the 6.4 litre fords. The 08s were having endless amount of issues with every mechanical part accept for the tranny. Quite a few of the 2010s have been blowing clouds of white smoke, because of some egr design flaw. Besides that, I haven't heard about much of the 010s having any other issues.
When it comes to the new 2011s I haven't been hearing too much issues with them so far, though most of the guys only have 30 000km on them and that would probably be too early to tell if they were mechanically reliable or not. There has also been a few cases now where the 6.7s would be moving along then they would suddenly lose a great amount of power and almost stall, then run fine again the next minute. There was also an issue with the transmission surging on some of them. Some of them also had a leaking oil pan gasket that I believe they have fixed now.

Here's a link to the forum I got a great deal of the info from. http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/

I have an 08' 6.4 and I have not had any trouble with it, nor have I had any trouble with any of my ford diesels. But I would not buy another one (6.4) as they are terrible on fuel. My next one will be the scorpion for sure. I have 140,000 kms on this truck now, it has an 8" lift and i am running 38X15.5 tires. I have had some front end parts replaced but that is without saying. All my fords were rode hard, towed hard, but very well maintained. I will be buying a new one soon!!!

Cummins is actually partly ownd by ford. The cummins was available in the bigger trucks-F650,F750 as far back as 2003.However they were having issues with the electronics interfacing with Fords electrical system,so it wasnt common to see the cummins in thier trucks.
