Default Bass in Alberta?

A buddy told me there's bass in Alberta. Any truth to this?

Do a search here in the fishing section and you will come up with many Alberta Bass threads.
Long ago a few lakes were stocked with bass. As far as anyone knows though none of these lakes have any left. There is rumor that one bass may have been caught in one of these lakes a few years ago. But that’s just rumor.

Bass just don’t reproduce in Alberta’s lakes.

Thanks for the responses. I felt it was unlikely to find bass on Alberta. It would be a cool fish to catch. Especially with the topwater action!

The rest of the lake is fine 20' to 30' feet of water but impossible to launch a boat. Even a car topper. Was there to check it out last summer. It a mud shore. You can't even walk to the water. If you do get out to the lake be careful of the underwater islands, they come up very quick even at trolling speed. Good luck. There still in there very tough to catch.

I wish that there was at least a dozen Bass lakes in Alberta....SRD needs to cut a couple million out of our Vast Trout program and stock some Bass Lakes.

X2 Too many trout lakes, that the trout taste like mud.
I would like a Bass lake or two. Think they would be fun to catch. Don't know how they taste tho. I vote too stock Hastings lake with Bass. LOL

Oh Oh it looks like the cat is out of the bag.

Island Lake has Bass in it. I have even seen pictures. I think they were out of the same Barry Mitchell guide mentioned above.

The boys out of Thorhild and Weasel Creek are going to be really mad about this stuff getting out.

Remember to dine at my brother Hop Sing's diner when you are in Smokey Lake.

Did a search of some other bass threads for Island Lake... doesn't seem to be any reports of any bass being caught there for about a decade now, and the water level seems to be very low (at least in 2010).
