Ice fishing anchors

So finally got a tent this winter and absolutely love my Frabil Outpost. Only thing that i am disappointed in is the anchors.
Have used the tent 4 times and now have 2 anchors left. All have bent and then snapped at top of threads.
Who has a good anchor set up without too much cost????

Seen it posted on one of the threads, i think they were called "ice angel anchors" looked like a pretty good idea. Just drill a hole a foot down or so and drop one of these into it.

Another guy posted that he makes his own from old skil saw blades, once you see the original, it would not be very hard to make your own.

I'm sure someone that knows more on these will be posting soon

Or go to a store and find the section that has a bunch of these sorts of hooks. Pick up a few that would be the most suitable for you. This second link is only to show the type of hooks that you could look for.

I think Walmart also has some hooks similar to the second link also.

I have made my own. Bought every thing I needed at Princess Auto.

Total cost about 10 bucks each. Just buy the 7 1/4 saw blade they have em for about 5 bucks each. Cut em in half, (I used a grinder) with a hack saw. Then just get a 6 to 8 inch piece of sloted 1/2 flat bar, and a coupler and you be done.

Check out their web site, ice angle.com you will see how easy it is to make one, not as fine a finish but they work just fine.
