In a 7mm-08 they do a good job on deer sized game.

They'll never get up and argue with you after a well placed shot.......:)

My only experience with ballistic tips has been 130 gr out of a .270win, I found they were a little more frangible than I would have liked(But they did the job!). If I were loading, I'd use them as a varmint bullet and use something else for deer, even just a standard soft point.

The 120gr 7mm ballistic tip has a very thick jacket, and it works well on deer sized game.

The 120's out of my 7mm rem mag don't tear up coyotes that bad. I have never tried them on deer though.

I just bought a box for the 7-30 Waters. I hope they will do for fire forming and deer.

I have shot a fair number of deer over the years using the 120BT out of my 7rem mag....no issues.

It is often reported that the 120gr. Bal Tips are simply shortened 150gr. Bal tips.

My little experiment in bullet sectioning proved this to be highly plausable.

Reports from larger and more broad based internet forums suggest that even when fired out of 7mm Rem mag, and the like, on game performance of 120gr. Bal Tips is quite good, and beyond what should be perceived.

Good luck.
