Are you talking about the middle lake right above Magee lake , for some reason I have heard lots of people call Magee lake lower chain and its not .. I am going out to the north chain lakes (smaller one) this weekend i always seem to have good luck there.. road access do suck to these lakes though

Thank you. Never knew this. Now if I plan to fish the lake I will know without having to look it up, when I can fish it. :)
Learned something today.

I am actually referring to Magee Lake. It's funny to hear you call it that as I know that is what it is called, yet every time I refer to it as such people look at me like I'm insane.

lilsundance 11-17-2014 09:43 PM

as requested. I am posting twin valley only has about 1/4 inch of ice so its gonna be awhile before its safe to walk on.

gnugen 11-18-2014 08:47 AM

Looks like iFish Alberta ice reports are back. Last's years reports are there for reference. See some people are out already landing fish.

South of Calgary?

Rockyman41 11-18-2014 01:19 PM

Do you guys ever have much luck at 1st chain, middle, or Magee? I've fished all three in summer and winter and have found nothing but hammer handles to 24"ers.

went out to Chickakoo lake after work to find a 5.5"-7" of black ice .

rena0040 11-19-2014 09:13 AM

Was out yesterday and checked on chain (south) and pcr. Chain had 4-5 inches right out to the middle. Pcr was open water south of the bridge (boat launch is ice free) but frozen north. Walked out in the bay NE of the bridge, 4 inches near shore, 2 inches 40-50 feet out

YeeHaw 11-19-2014 09:53 AM

lsxfirebird 11-19-2014 01:05 PM

Summer killed. Dead.

Tdog_2005 11-22-2014 05:08 PM

Went to the north most chain lakes and ice was 5 to 6 inches of good ice.

Conor_90 11-23-2014 01:22 AM

Canmore area not looking so good for ice fishing atm.

Gap lake is not safe yet, still has holes and evidence of melt.

Goat pond is frozen on one half, casting still possible but futile. Saw some people ice skating on it, wouldn't recommend that myself.

Spray is kind of a mess, the ice near the dam is fishable, probably around 5 inches. Not worth a trip if you are from Calgary.

Tdog_2005 11-23-2014 05:11 PM

please no snow for a couple weeks nice clear ice

degasvegas 11-23-2014 07:13 PM

I was out by Whitecourt this morning, small trout pond. Upon arrival there was a 1 inch layer of cloudy crappy ice - obviously from the recent melt and refreeze. But under that was about 5-6 inches of solid black ice.

FISH ON!!!

davebuck 11-23-2014 07:19 PM

Any reports around lethbridge area

impulse 11-23-2014 07:22 PM

Keho still has 6" of good ice but bring your skates it's just like a ice rink

chop 11-23-2014 07:48 PM
