wow thats incredible, the only issues i have heard about was the odd eyelet and hook pulling out of the body but bitten in two... DAMM must have been a river monster. lol

I had 2 or 3 that looked similar to that. I threw them away at the beginning of the year when I was going through my gear.
They were All Rapala's also. I am kind of thinking it weakens from bouncing off of rocks on the retrieve and just gets to the point that any decent hit finishes the break.

It's going in the garbagage I was fishing at twin valley damn this morning for pike in my favorite spot since I was up that way. It's a rapala.. one of the silver ones.

I bought this hook about 4 months ago.. barely ever used it. it was brand new still in the bow.. unless it was rotten but it doesn't look rotten

yep. my kids like to bounce them off all kinds of things before they hit the water. just like anything, they'll only take so much. i have more than a few in my hook cemetery.

That's pretty bizzare! Those lures are made with a through-wire design meaning the line attaching loop is connected to the belly & tail hook loops; the only way a lure could seperate like that would be to cut the 100lb wire or bend it back & forth repeatedly until it work hardened & broke. I've seen diving lips break off & wires break out of bodies but not completely in half like that; must have been a made @ 4pm Friday lure lol.
