Just my 2 cents. People say some fish overwinter but I don't think many. I think the majority do not and it seems that what is living is hard to catch. Maybe others have had better luck? All I have ever caught are first year stocked fish.

We hit it on Dec 31st for a few morning hours and got skunked. However we were old skool with no cameras, sonar, gps....just hand auger, lawn chairs and coffee and cigars...but I do like the location...

Drove out this aft but am not sure where you enter at. Is it that hard right that goes down towards what seems to be the lake directly so. of Winchell estates?

I have been told there is no drive on access in winter this is second hand knowledge. I would give a good look around.

The road I refer to seems to go down towards what I think is the lake, otherwise you are going to walk down an estrememly steep hill that I know for sure no one could haul a boat down.

If you can see the lake and you've gone up the hill, you've gone too far. Just before the road goes up the hill, there is a trail on the left side of the road that runs along the swamp. That trail will lead you to the lake. Winter access isn't too bad if you it hasn't snowed too much and you have a 4x4.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed.

I was sure that trail on the side of the road would lead past that slew to the lake. Now I will go out and give er a try.
