900 tags in 353, so proud of Alberta's wildlife management skills. In a couple of years, it should be interesting as to what priority you have to be to get drawn for moose.

I live here and yes numbers are down and if this winter gets any worse the numbers are going to plumet.Between the cold and snow this early its going to have a huge affect on them, the snow here is belly height on the deer.

X2...
Another bad winter and watch the ungulate numbers all over the province drop. Here's hoping it warms a bit in areas and snow pack decreases.

Not sure where la-la land is and so I don't know what there weather is like.

Here in the Rocky area the weather hasn't been too bad. We do not have the depth of snow that some other areas of the province has had. Our deer numbers are pretty good though the moose and elk numbers seem low to me.

Did you actually have a point to make?

there is thousands of moose in 353.. we get our bull every year.. this year seen 20 moose in 3 days and took nice 40 inch bull...no deer left though.. dont think its alll about the caribou as much as it is the large population of moose

I work quite a bit in this zone and do a lot of flying up there. I have seen most of the caribou(2 herds of over 30), hundreds of moose and not one wolf. It makes no sense to me to try and take hundreds more moose than is sustainable year to year to try and improve the amount of habitat for the caribou. If they were at all serious about saving the amount if habitat they would cut down on the logging. It makes me sick when you look at the area from up in the air.
