Default Chestermere

Anyone been to chestermere lately? Gonna take the kids out on Sunday afternoon and was just looking for an ice condition update...

Took my boys there on sunday. Cut one hole, hit dirt. Used my diamond stone to sharpen blades enough to cut another hole. Walked out farther. Hit mud. The boys had fun though. Ii have never been there on ice before. Went on by the canal, walked out towards the middle. I always thought it was deeper than that. Oh well

I was there on Sunday the ice was a good 24" at the south end.

Yep. 24 inches of ice and 2 inches of water.

Ya, still 2' of ice. Go on at the SE corner, follow the trail on a 45 deg angle out towards the middle, go about 200 yards, you'll have 8' of water.

Lived there for a year...
The lake changes depth drastically between summer and winter.
Also filling with sand/dirt brought in by inlet water.
Sand runs a long way out on SW corner.
Most people fish the SE corner.
