Default ION Auger

So, old auger is done and I need a new one. I've been following the ION since the beginning of the season and have read all the reports on this site and others. I like the whole simplicity of it and no more messing around with motors and gas.

What I'm looking for is, are you still happy with your purchase. Batteries still holding power after full season?

Debating of buying one now, or at the beginning of next season (just in case there are changes to the model).

There's still lots of ice fishing left in this season for me!

I've heard nothing but great things, there was a thread a while back which was extremely positive.

Ive got an electric auger, it's a strikemaster not an ion. But I wouldn't buy a gas auger after using my electric one for 3 seasons straight (same battery). If I were to buy a new auger I'd go with an ion or ice gator.

I've only been out twice after purchasing mine but so far it is great and I have no plans on going back to gas.

The Ion is wonderful i have drilled 20 holes and only had one light go off from the charger. Best thing since power augers were invented.

Can you change the battery out like on a cordless drill or is it an internal unit. Not that I would need to drill 40 holes on most days but what I would do is forget to charge it so haveing an extra charged battery would be nice.

It is like the battery on a cordless drill only bigger 40 volt. You can buy an extra battery it is $180.00.
