Well done, Jeremy403. Too shot up to eat, I guess. Still, what a trophy!!! Thanks for sharing the pic with us "sportsmen."
No doubt, you're a killer. Every gopher should fear you.

Well, looks like Jeremy403 has set the standard for gopher "hunting," at two dead with one shot (so he claims).
Allright, any other "sportsman" out there with pics of three dead with one shot, please post up the pics.
Gopher "hunting?" Too funny.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything about the pic. And as Cowtown Guy mentioned a that some kids think gopher guts are cool. When I was young gopher hunting was reserved for kids. And kids are brutal. You never saw many grown men shooting gophers.
All I know is... I have a photographic memory and I am still haunted by the gory gopher guts I was responsible for when I was little. I look back now, 50+ years later, and wonder why I was so ruthless towards such small harmless creatures.
I still think there isn't any need to fill kids minds with such images.

Small and harmless...... Got a good chuckle on that one.
Used to get paid 5 cents a tail when I was a kid from the farmers.
I'm not going to bore you or over analyze your post, but read up on the harmless gophers. Almost as bad as the Carp IMO.

I never said anything about hunting. I consider it more pest control, I have poisoned and shot thousands. Have u ever seen what gophers can do to a canola or alfalfa crop?

If these pics offend you, maybe take up knitting instead.
Travel more than 100km on any given Alberta highway, and chances are good you will see something much more gory. It's amazing how a loaded kenworth at highway speed can manage to extract every drop of blood from a deer and deposit it on the asphalt.
If this picture bothers you, either come down off your high horse, or stop riding it onto posted land (there was fair warning in the thread title)

Some people need to read the rules as posted by Pixel Shooter, me thinks some are getting a time out. Good job on the gophers, I haven't even been out yet this year.

We worked out a hay field because of gophers, could hardly drive in it anymore, after we worked it out the county gave us poison and we walked the quarter and poisoned them, they were gone, worked awesome. The next spring we seeded canola with zero sign of gophers, by the time spraying came around in the backend of the quarter the gophers had migrated over from the neighbours hayfield and we lost in the end 9 acres of canola all from HARMLESS little cute gophers.

Pest control? Well, you claim to have poisoned and shot thousands, yet they're still around, correct? Enough of them left for you to blaze away at and shoot two at once (as you claim), and you're pretty proud of it.
Jeremy403, it's past your bedtime.

We like to keep a few live ones in the back 40 for saturday afternoon target practice. If u dont believe my (claim) would u mind if I post photographic evidence of where I pulled the second gopher out of the hole and u can confirm that he is dead.

It wasnt much more then 30 yards. This time of year with all the young ones its common to see 2 or 3 heads sticking out of one hole

Why is it that someone always has to make a stupid comment on every thread on this forum!
Its hard to start a thread without someone blasting the author its just ridiculous, dont dare ask something you dont know.

I sometimes wonder....
At what age do some folks get released from their Mama's teet?
Somebody was happy to share a first for themsevles, some folks decide to drop their britches, squat over it and drop a load on his excitement. What exactly gives you the right?
Did you get pats on the head and called "pretty" your whole life?
Did Daddy still tie your hockey skates for you in high school? Or were you not allowed to play contact sports?
You must believe in the "all kids get a ribbon, everyone is a winner" mantra?
Let me guess...
You also don't think people should be allowed to hunt coyotes or wolves?
You know what my parents always said to me? "If you you have nothing better to do that rain on someone else's parade... you're doing it all wrong"
Oh, and... "you lost... I guess you better practice harder"
and... "get outside and play"
and... "it's only a scratched knee, stop crying"
I say share your stories! Gory or not!
... Heck the guy even warned you in the title for crying out loud!
