Arrow Ice Fishing- Rattle Snake(Sauder Res.)

Hey has any one been out to Rattle Snake in the past few weeks. I haven't been out in about 2 weeks and was wondering if any one has been catching. The derby is this weekend and was wondering if anyone could tell me a few good spots to go????

umm i don't think that there is an exact time that you can go. we are going out at about 8:00 saturday morning and staying all day. We aren't going friday, so you don't have to partake in both days. And i'm pretty sure it costs something like $20.00 or so to enter.

well as for the booth part. once you get to the park(golden sheaf park) there is the first booth when you come in the gate where you pay for camping. I'm pretty sure they will be running it out of there. and as for the number of holes its not like a big time derby where you have a certain amount of hole, i think your aloud as many hole but still only aloud 2 lines (DUHH). and for more info you can get ahold of the park at 403-832-2189 or The Outdoorsman at 403-529-9248.... Hope to see you out there!!

I was out there last Wednesday and hate to say it but it was slooooooowwww!!!
Worst ice fishing day this year.
My honey hole was occupied when I got there but from what I saw it would not have mattered(they were having as much action as I).
Deep,shallow,minnow,smelt,worm,maggots.etc.etc.... ..the fish were just not hungry.
Good luck,if things havent turned around out there you are gonna need some!

Default where is this lake?

its about 20 minutes outside of medicine hat. how to get there. u go on the #3 by the airport, turn right at the spits factory. follow that road for about 10 or so minutes, u will get to a sign on ur right hand side that says golden sheaf park, turn right, if you go to far u will hit a dirt road, but not hard to miss, after turning right follow that road for about 5 minutes and then you will get to the lake( the first rock dam) then u should be able to find your way to the park....

Yes you can fish the second dam. you follow the same road you come in on, it will turn to a dirt road and you follow that till you get to the dam, road will end at a cattle gate u just have to turn and get onto the dam and there are 2 good spots on the dam. you can fish about half way down the first part of the dam. or you can follow the dam around and fish out front of the big pump house. about 20-30 feet off shore at the pump house good pike fishing. or well really any where on the lake can be good, if you can access it. my favorite has to be off the boat launch at the park. strait out about 40 feet then turn left and walk about 20-30 feet and there is a really deep hole. about 30-45 feet of water. just keep drilling and dropping your line you will find it. this is a good spot for most species.... good luck out there, and hope you get a chance to go to the derby its going to be a blast
