Hustler Raptor with 24 HP Kawasaki and 60 inch deck. It cuts a lot of grass fast and is built like a tank.

Thanks for all the suggestions, ended up going with John Deere 530m 60" zero turn. The local dealership was easy to deal with and gave me a fairly significant discount,

I can buy both of these locally, I just bought my first acreage and want to buy once and have years of low equipment maintenance and efficient yard maintenance.
Acreage is 8 acres but only about 3 of it is grass and the rest is trees and pasture.

Any insight would be helpful.
A good new scythe costs 200 bucks, and will last a lifetime. Lots of them used to be hanging on the walls of old farm buildings everywhere. If you could find one with the handle wood still in good condition you'd probably be able to get it in trade for a case of beer.

Competition record for harvesting an acre of grass is 1 hr 26 minutes, set in 1822. You could probably do it in a couple hours. That'd be a couple hours a week of healthy exercise, hitting each grass patch every 3 weeks. And it will add 15 years to your lifespan to boot.
Can't get a better deal than that.

This, I tried the Toro Titan with the My Ride seat and my 54 inch Husky was sold immediately!
