The usual stellar job of keeping the highways clear.
2 inches of snow and the QE 2 is a skating rink between Calgary and Red Deer, multiple semis in the ditch, same with the TCH.
i guess 4 days notice of the storm wasn't enough.
I have driven in every province except NFLD and Alberta is by far the worst for knowing how to deal with winter

Last night the hourly forecast said 10-20 cm by 8:30 am. Still what fell is very dense.
I shoveled the drive and the snow kept falling but melting. Going to get icy tonight.

Just checked another 10-30 cm expected by tomorrow.
My shear bolts broke on my blower… dam rocks.
Fixed and ready to go.

I raised my blower feet about 1.5" and that corrected the shearing off my bolts with alley rocks.
However I can't get right down on my concrete driveway.....I just live with touching it up with the ol' "hand held backhoe..."
The snow at my place isn't heavy but it has been non stop all night...
Just finishing a coffee and out I go again....Good exercise if nothing else and I do the older neighbors as well.

I drove from Edmonton to South of Leduc on #2 yesterday, and it was just sloppy and wet, I wouldn't want to be there today. We got very little snow yesterday maybe 1/2", and very light snow just started here in the last hour.
As far as snow removal, I grew up in Saskatchewan, the nearest city 25 miles away, and we drove through a foot of snow on the Yellowhead a few times, and many times half a foot. And they never closed that highway, we drove regardless of conditions.

Had 4-5" to shovel yesterday, maybe 1" of wet stuff today, nice easy clearance. At the moment getting big flakes, sun's out, melting as fast as it hits. Most is evaporating, not doing a whole lot for us I suspect.

Probably 8-10 inches here, heavy wet stuff though so it’s at least bringing good moisture, hopefully it keeps up

But you probably adjusted your driving to the conditions unlike a lot of our newly licensed "truckers" who don't seem to release what snow is.
52 accidents yesterday on the QE between Calgary and Edmonton and over 200 in Calgary.
On another note, a question to you guys that farm. I see some saying the snow wont help much, others say it will. What equivalent snow to rain is needed?

yup, wednesday morning I drove from Blackfalds to Gasoline Alley in Red Deer.
I couldnt even see the highway. it was completely snow covered.
When I turned into Gas Alley, the roads were nicely plowed and salted. The county couldnt take care of the highway, but they took care of the side roads.

12 inches of wet snow equals approx one inch of rain

Snowing pretty good in Calgary right now. Large dry fluffy flakes.

Snow just keeps on coming.
Funny time of year though. Clear the snow off the driveway and all the new snow melts as it falls.

I think Red Deer County takes care of all the roads other than highway. The name of the Highway maintenance Contractor is Mainroads.
