Big thanks to surhuntsalot
A little while back he was kind enough to pass along a Coleman liquid gas lantern to me, and now that the days have gotten shorter, that lantern has allowed me to get in a lot of extra fishing that I wouldn't have gotten to do otherwise. He's also a really nice guy and I hope to meet up with him again sometime

Damn near! I've definitely been out there more often than not the past couple weeks
I may be becoming a river rat, but I love having such a spot so close to home

Night Wsihin
Nice pics Jay. Try some night fishing on full moon and its even better.
A few trips in northern sask and we always go for wallys after midnite and you dont have to be in a boat.
Happy Walleye Hunting

Interesting...I've got some family up around Meadow Lake and have spent a lot of time fishing in the area when I was younger but never tried after dark. Might be worth a little future investigation

Well, it's definitely being put to use (and thanks again!)
Maybe I'll see you on the river some time

Now you are going to have to get yourself into some sort of river boat. even a small jon boat with a small jet outboard would work. You could customize them little boats however you would like to.

Jet outboard? I didn't even realize such a creature existed
And I can only imagine the fish I could possibly catch if I was actually mobile out on the river

Just get a zodiac or something like it with a good electric trolling to move a little. Float down the river and anchor where you find some holes. Lots of people float in tubes or canoe from Devon to Edmonton. Or could go from Ed. to Ft Sask.

Ya the little tiller style jet outboards are the perfect set up for river fishing. You can find them on kijiji and mount them on any boat really. That way you can have the power to rip back into the current and use the transom mount or bow mount for staying vertical while jigging. There is a ton of possible set ups for them little boats.
Pm. me if you want any more ideas. I have custoized a little boat and plan on doing a ton more over the winter when I get the furnace rigged in the garage.
