RCMP. "What? Someone's held up in the woods with guns committing a real crime, f*** it, I'm goin for a free coffee, be back in a FEW MONTHS to check to see if they are still there. See yas later, sorry about your luck Mr. Trapper".
Next time someone tells me I NEED the RCMP, I'm going to ask them to prove to me what for??
*Frustrated.

"Canada's laws" are legislation and Common Law. Something tells me I could find Common Law authorities where occupying property of others is not permissible. Whatever they claim to follow, it's clearly a perversion of any legitimate law.

I didn't read the whole thread, so this might have been said before.
If "the laws" don't apply to them, then neither do "the laws" that protect them - including laws against "murder".
That makes them fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Someone should put out a few buckets of honey and hang a few pieces of meat around there. They might not be afraid of the fuzz but grizz, that's a next step up.

It was reported in May, I'm sure they were just trying to find the address on google maps.
Nothing to do with the publicity.....

Arrest made. 40 year old male, originally from Manitoba. Charged with weapons offences and threats. Apparently had a weapons ban on him.

...or maybe instead of being keyboard jockeys, they assessed the situation, made a plan, and resolved it somewhat peacefully hmmm, people here are sure quick to bash, not so quick to give the hand clap to the LEO's

May, June, July, August, September, October, ya, they got er' done in a timely fashion.
Are you serious? I'm not bashing cops for not doing anything, I'm bashing them for not doing anything until it hits the media. Are you telling me that it is acceptable to take 150 days give or take to investigate this type of an issue? They were just about to act when the media finally got wind right?

Guess you know more about how to handle these situations in a remote location than I do, so I will not comment further, will just watch your expert thoughts on how it played out...you were the guy that asked what was the FTR?, and why would a LEO vehicle and para medics be there, " was somebody caught speeding" right?, that was you?

Yes it was me, did you miss the pun in my post?
I never mentioned anything about knowing how to plan an extraction of this sort, but let me ask you an honest question;
If this hit the news in May, would it be October 8th when they removed him? Give me your honest opinion.
The swat does high risk extractions on hours notice but it takes the RCMP 5 month to pull out a hermit?

It's unfortunate the RCMP wont do the hard jobs until the media pressures them, kind of like the squatter in the lady's townhouse in Calgary that went on for Months until it made the news. Why go after bad guys when it pays to go after good guys, much easier to.

A little quote from the spokesman from the trappers association;
"Finally the police are stepping into the situation," he said. ".
I'm only calling a spade a spade.
