The reason it gets harder to date as you get older is because women want to get to know you as a person instead of as an animal first.

Rule of thumb to find a good mate, age wise, is you are supposed to cut your age in half and add 10 years. Could narrow down the search.

Good luck in your quest.

Having idly perused dating sites and found women there I have known, I can honestly say, better luck buying a used car.

My buddy that is in same place put it best! dating in your 40 is like building a house without nails! You can bang away with your hammer but nothing ever gets built or forms any foundations!

You need to forget about a relationship for a while. Get out and have fun. Find a few girls to help you get some built up aggression out.

Oh and listen to what sns2 was saying. Lots of that stuff you get for life. So don't forget the lemon juice test!

Maybe we need to have a dating super thread?

A place where like minded outdoors people can hook up.

Get a dog and start walking, you will meet all sorts of nice people. Best to get a friendly dog. Stay away from cat people.

Better ask the first few dates if they are already AO forum members or even better... if they are AO forum moderators.

Best to just be alert and on the ball. When you least expect "that" woman will appear. Most of the time she will appear when/where you aren't even looking.

I have a feeling that if I ever get divorced, I'll be buying an acreage somewhere and building a big shop with a section framed in for living quarters.

I'll fill the shop up with motorbikes and toys. If I get cold I'll just burn all my extra cash for heat.

(Hope my wife don't see this! haha)

I remember being in my mid late 30's and freshly divorced. The range of ovulating good looking females from 22 to 52 was an eyeopener, made me wonder why I hadn't expanded my horizons before I got married the first time.

This thread was well worth tagging in on. Between the new laughs and the retro threads this has been great. Best of all the OP actually got some reasonable advice. All I can say is I am damn glad I dont have to date in today's world. All the best Opensights in your endeavours.
