Rigger depth Minnewanka in Aug

Hello, I am unexperienced to fishing but I do have alot of my fathers older gear. I have and older cuddy cruiser that has put in its fair share of fishing, and would love to start adding to it! I am plannaing on down rigging at Minnewanka this Augest.. At what depth and what type of lures are popular to catch lakers at this time of year?
Any help would be awsome!
