[QUOTE=Fish Hunter7;1058383]caught in waterton.

Not caught in Waterton. Caught on the Waterton river. Quite a ways out of the park. The guy was fishing for pike at the time.

If I remember correctly that cut was fromPyramid lake in Nevada. Check your source , the walleye record of 25lbs was disallowed a few years ago , record stands at around 23.

I read somewhere that Pyramid lake was connected to another body of water and the fish grew huge, then things were dammed and fish weren't able to migrate and size dropped dramatically.

I believe it was the Waterton Dam , not the river he was fishing in

Can't argue with success. A fish is a fish. The previous record was sea run , should that put it in a different category than landlocked ? Who cares. Its still a RAINBOW trout. ( that fish deserves capital letters )

The Alberta Record Brook Trout should read 12 # 14oz caught in Pine Lake (not) as it is bigger at 14# 14oz than the WR. check AFGA records
The Alberta Record Bull Trout should read 25#13 oz caught in the Muskeg river, caught by Mike Danyluk in the 1950's neighbor Ben and Phylis Meier saw the fish!!! check AFGA records

The Lahontan Cutthroat Trout /Pyramid Lake Drainage by Reno huge Cutthroats in its day, still very nice cutties

Lake White Fish WR 15.6 Clear lake Ont 1983 Chris T D Webster
Mountain White Fish 5.14 Island Park Res Idaho 1997 Robert K Hall
Sturgeon 800# Fraser River 1972 Harold Hiltz
Golden Trout is 11#4oz

Food for Thought
David

There's an article in the October 2010 Alberta Outdoorsmen magazine with a picture of the record brown. 21 pounds, 14 oz, caught at Waterton Dam as already mentioned. Holy crapy that is a nice brown!
