Default Slave Lake Ice heave

Just heard there has been a major ice heave in Slave's West basin....4' of open water now a few hundred yards from shore. Be really careful if heading up there! Many people with cabins may not be able to get them out this year.

Wow. That's pretty scary. Been itching to get our large ice shack hauled out there. The way this weather has been, may not get a chance to haul it out there.

Default Heave

I know its only been a couple days but I am heading out there Friday Jan 13 just curious if you could post anything before Thursday from where you heard it. Just so I don't spend 6 hours driving if conditions are unsafe.

I heard it was the Joussard/Driftpile area. I have heard of some cabins out at Canyon Creek but at best 12" of ice. I would not drive on it due to inconsistencies. Most are quadding/sledding.
