Default First time hunter

Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting my hunting licence, do I need a hunter education course first or can I just go and take the a fire arms course?

If you want you can just go and get your PAL/RPAL and then you could buy some guns and get comfortable at the range.

If hunting is something you want to pursue and by the title of your thread it is, you will need to get your hunters ed. Check out AHEIA for your hunters ed, you can find it here. http://www.aheia.com/

What he said!

And good on you for staring right now in your quest. If you persue this yoiu will be posting up pictures of your first duck, grouse, rabbit, deer here next fall.

It is a little frustrating when someone starts asking how they can get started hunting when it is September already.

Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress.

I took my PAL course, and am now taking hunter's education online. It's actually pretty fun, and you have six months to complete it.

I would really suggest it – and it's only $70. And they even take PayPal!

Then, as you embark on the journey, you'll be ready when you want to leave the range.
