Default mating season

so would the mating season be in full swing for coyotes yet and if so would a cotton tail in distress still work fine. I will be going out this afternoon to give them a try, will let you know how they respond.

I got 2 last week using Lightning Jack. Both came in within 10 minutes of setting up. They both seemed to be alone & very interested in the dying rabbit sound, however earlier in the morning I saw a pair cruising across a field.

Called In a pair last week. They stopped out front and did the no pants dance then turned and left.

Default mating season

The coyotes are definitely pairing up now. Don't be hesitant to use prey sound at any time. They still got to eat. If anything you will get both of them coming at once. This has happened to me many times. Coyote sounds are good, but in my experience, your best bet are prey sounds. I usually start with a prey sound, and if after 10 minutes or so, I'll change to a coyote sound, usually a challenge howl followed by a pup in distress sound. I think this tells one who is listening, that the dying rabbit has been found, and now 2 dogs are fighting over it. If a coyote hears that in is territory, I promise you he will be ****ed and coming to straighten out the situation. Pm me if I can share some of my experience with you.

Probably start pairing up but with a 60 day gestation period my thoughts would be nature would want them born in the spring! April...Mayish

Well it seems they still like the rabbit in distress had this one come in with two others could only pick one to shoot so picked this male. one 55 grain pill to the head and it was all over.

Did a total of 3 stands the first two came up dry i know they were there as to the magpies but couldnt get them to come out. the third stand it only took about 6 minutes and i had 3 on me. I just love this sport.

I agree, this is my first year doing the calling thing & is very addictive. Can't wait to get home next week for more action!
