Default I kill fish

Mostly just whites, but sometimes lakers, and rainbows, and brookies, and browns, and pike, oh ya and burbot, man definitely burbot.

Anyhow, it's almost that time of year again for the whities to do their thing,

So let the slaughter begin!

Post here if you enjoy harvesting some fish!

How do you prepare your RMWF? I have only smelled them when gutted, never eaten one. How do they taste?

I'm about 98% catch and release, but given the right set of circumstances, I'm not opposed to a good shore lunch!

Rmw's smoke absolutely fantastic,, an old ao'er named braun made a stunning batch. Fried rmw that have been rolled in flour first are an autumnal treat, yum.

Such an under rated fish

Butttttt.......?????????? How does kryptonite - think superman- and perch suddenly equate to turkeys and eating? thats like saying perch are his nemesis, or archrival, or the bane to hisexistence - not a batman reference - shouldnt he say, perch are the wind beneath my wings? Or some similar clap?

Hey Bee Guy:

Mix some styrofoam cup chunks with white gas and cook those brookies.

You get that nice napalm in the morning smell and taste.

filleted boneless, skinless except for the pin bones which are very fine.

we just fry them in butter with either thyme or dill until browned and dash some salt and pepper on them.

if they are from cold water I prefer them without a batter or dusting. Cold water pike is the opposite.

I think I'm a pretty responsible fisherman, catch and release whenever possible, in it for the fun, yadda yadda, but when the perch start showing up in good numbers, and good sizes, I get a little weak in the knees, and there's gonna be some eatin' goin on! I like big perch and I cannot lie!

I usually will take one or two RMWF home when fishing the Sheep or Highwood, they are such good eating fish.

BeeGuy, I have to tag along with you at some point when you are targeting the whites. I remember last year you telling me about them in the reservoir and I can't wait for them this year.

PS: Since you mention harvesting, you need to get those suppression numbers up! I caught and ate my 50 brookies last week with some friends in a fish fry up Gonna go this weekend for another batch.
