CISPA and Canada

Ok, the timing of these new bills and laws and such are getting to be too much... If you haven't heard of CISPA, its going to affect you in ways you probably don't understand right now...

Bill C-30 is apparently dead - maybe - that's the bill that had Toews on a soap box screaming "if you're not with us, you're with the child pornographers". Who can forget that speech.

Bill C-12 is in the works, it's another online surveillance legislation.

Bill C-12 would make it easier for authorities — possibly including private security firms — to obtain information about subscribers from Internet service providers, email hosts and social media sites on a voluntary basis.

There's an answer to all this that is simple, above board, and has stood the test of time. GET A JUDGE TO GRANT AN ORDER. If the cops don't want to go before a judge then they don't need to know.

Though I agree with this statement, would you have a problem with someone sitting in your home to make sure you do nothing wrong? Where is the line between privacy and a need to monitor drawn?

I was being facetious, there are enough laws in place as it is. Uncle Steve just wants to keep an eye on his kingdom.
