Talking Upcoming Horn Shows - Post'em Up!

Should this be a sticky?

It's that time of year again! I'll start:

6th Annual Cherry Grove Big Buck Night, Dec 13th at the Cherry Grove Hall. 12:00 - 8:00 PM. Lot's of great prizes (including firearms!) and all for a great cause. Proceeds from this years show will benefit the local Cancer Support Group "Haying in the 30's". To date we've raised over $5000 for local initiatives

We even have prizes for unused general whitetail tags; there's lots out there it seems!. Visit the link in my signature for more info or find us on Facebook or feel free to PM me direct.

Thanks, Pete!

Default Important Updates!

Just found out that some respected individuals from Saskatoon that may be affiliated with a respected magazine are going to be there. Exsile Sports are also holding a massive sale in Cold Lake and are giving away a firearm. How do you get a ticket you ask.....just come to our show, enter an animal or come for viewing, easy! It's all for a good cause afterall!

Cold Lake Ford is giving away a command start unit (installed) for any make and model. This chance is available to all who pay admission into the show. That alone is worth approx $800.00!

Depending on prize availability, we'll be pulling random scores from a hat to award to any sized animal. Your 100" deer could win you.

Rob Furlong will talk 11:00 am – 12:00 noon Long Range Shooting

Rob FurlongRob Furlong (born 1976), is a former corporal of the Canadian Forces, who previously held the record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat, at 2,430 m (2,657 yd) or 12.08 furlongs or 1.51 miles. Furlong's shot exceeded the previous record of Arron Perry set in 2002 just before Furlong's record by 120 m or 130 yd. Furlong's record was surpassed in November 2009 by Craig Harrison who shot two Taliban fighters consecutively at a verified range of 2,475 m (2,707 yd). Born in Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Furlong taught himself to fire a rifle ambidextrously. In March 2002, Furlong participated in Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan's Shah-i-Kot Valley as a member of the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). His sniper team included MCpl. Graham Ragsdale (Team Commander), MCpl. Tim McMeekin, MCpl. Arron Perry, and Cpl. Dennis Eason. A group of three al-Qaeda fighters were moving into a mountainside position when Furlong took aim with his Long Range Sniper Weapon (LRSW), a .50-caliber McMillan Brothers Tac-50 rifle, loaded with Hornady A-MAX 750 gr very-low-drag bullets. He began firing at a fighter carrying an RPK machine gun. Furlong's first shot ( Wikipedia article )

Possibly because it was held on the 5th last year, when the post was made?

What kind of awards are there for a guy with the highest scoring deer? Any Sheep awards? Never been to an awards deal and never have entered a critter in my life but I think if I ever do this year I should be doing it.
