I am looking for one of those ice shack that were built by a guy in Medicine Hat. I'm thinking his name was gukert or something. I was in one of his shacks years ago and loved and want one now but can't seem to find one or a website. I have done some searches but I can't find the guy.
I was wondering if someone had one they want to part with or point me in the right direction lease.
Thank-you!
Thanks for the reply, that looks like the one. Do you know if he has a website? Do he sell them premade or are DIY only? Sorry for the questions I am in bad cell service but decent internet
Those shacks were originally invented by the Coquette brothers out of St. Brieux Sask. There used to be thousands of them in use in Sask in the 80's. I'm pretty sure they sell the plans on line. The shack sets up in a minute and fits between the wheel wells of a full size 1/2 ton. Good for 1 or 2 max. I think if you google coquette ice shacks you find them. I used to own 2 of them !
Ya I just looked it up and they are still in business !! They have a patten on these, but might have sold the business, as I noticed they have a Saskatoon address ! Word of warning , they are a back killer !
I guess Frank sold his business a few years back so maybe I will try that Coquette Bros. I'm glad they are heavy for when the winds pick up I don't have to worry about chasing it down the lake like my pop up did once.
